By the way, it is royal tradition to carry a sprig of myrtle in the wedding bouquet. The myrtle not only comes from special place – Queen Victoria’s garden, but is the emblem of love and marriage. Be sure to look for it in Meghan’s bouquet.
Not only do flowers convey meaning, but also have the ability to heal our emotions. In the 1930’s, Dr. Edward Bach, a medical doctor from England studied flowers and discovered that flowers in nature have the ability to affect our emotions positively. For example, white chestnut helps free us from unwanted thoughts and mental arguments. Wild rose helps free us from resignation and apathy. I guess nature really is our medicine cabinet.
Learning more about flowers has renewed my appreciation for their beauty as well as their significance in our lives. I’ll be sure to choose carefully when selecting flowers for friends, loved ones and for when I treat myself to a bouquet for the table.
